About PWM

Front of the PWM building in Kraków

Since 1945, PWM Edition (Polskie Wydawnictwo Muzyczne) has accompanied composers, artists, educators, students, and music lovers in their everyday musical lives. We publish sheet music (from the first exercises for young beginners to virtuosic masterpieces), books for both music enthusiasts and scholars, and pedagogical materials for those taking their first steps in the world of sound. We prepare performance materials for Polish and international orchestras, philharmonics, and opera houses.

Through our phonographic label ANAKLASIS, we document the most significant developments in Polish music of the 20th and 21st centuries. We are also active in the digital realm: via the Polish Music Library portal, we share the legacy of Polish composers along with entries from the iconic PWM Music Encyclopaedia. As the publisher of Ruch Muzyczny – Poland’s oldest and most prestigious music periodical – we actively promote the work of Polish composers at home and abroad, organising, initiating, and supporting numerous educational and artistic projects. Wherever Polish music is heard, we are present – often behind the scenes, as a dedicated and supportive accompanist.

In 2025, we celebrated our eightieth anniversary. The opening of the UNA music café and bookstore marks the beginning of yet another decade of PWM’s activity. We hope that visits to our building at Rynek Główny 36 in Kraków will become a cherished part of your cultural plans.
